Phuket is a beach lovers dream. With a gorgeous coastline and plenty of neighbourhoods to choose from, the island boasts some of the best beaches in all of Thailand. For those looking to get off the beaten path and escape the hustle and bustle of daily life, here are a few recommendations for the most peaceful beaches in Phuket.

Ao Sane Beach

A rugged, 200-metre spread of sand in the south of Phuket, Ao Sane Beach is a gorgeous little cove nestled amongst the hills. Backed by tropical almond trees and dotted with granite boulders, the scenery here is stunning. Ao Sane Beach is an excellent spot for snorkelling and diving. The beach also features a small, no-fuss restaurant that serves authentic Thai fare and a variety of international cuisine.

Banana Beach

Banana Beach is considered one of Phuket’s “secret beaches.” Located on the western coast between Bang Tao and Nai Thon beaches, Banana Beach is often deserted due to the fact it’s a bit difficult to find. The water is ultra clear here, the sand particularly soft and the scenery spectacular as the beach is backed by tall, swaying palm trees. Banana Beach is worth the effort in finding as it is an idyllic spot to laze the day away.

Ya Nui Beach

Nestled between Promthep Cape and the Windmill Viewpoint, Ya Nui Beach is a quiet location with breathtaking views. The small beach has a rugged landscape. There’s great snorkelling here as well as kayaks for rent. If all the time in the sun has you feeling peckish, head across the street from the beach to the small local restaurant for a heaping plate of pineapple fried rice and a fresh coconut shake.

Khao Khat Beach

Khao Khat Beach is a quiet, local beach in the Cape Panwa neighbourhood of Phuket.

Although this area of the island is quite upscale with luxury resorts and a splattering or restaurants, the neighborhood has been able to retain a relaxed charm. Khao Khat Beach features shallow turquoise water and stunning views across Chalong Bay. At the western end of the beach, there is a dense mangrove forest which is interesting to explore.

Kamala Beach

Looking for a tranquil beach getaway in Phuket? Kamala Beach, a mere 9.5 kilometers north of Patong, is your perfect escape. Its soft sands and gentle waves make it an ideal spot for sunbathing and relaxation. The northern end of the beach comes alive with water sports, from jet-skiing to parasailing. While the high season (November to April) offers calm, inviting waters, the monsoon season (May to October) brings powerful waves that attract surfers from around the world.

Natai Beach

Located north of Phuket over Sarasin Bridge, Natai Beach is a ten kilometre stretch of beach featuring powdery white sand, mesmerizing clear water and coconut groves that dot the coastline. Due to its expansive size, Natai Beach often feels isolated even when it’s not. The beach is truly peaceful and serene.

Natai Beach is without a doubt one of the best beaches that southern Thailand has to offer. Elite Havens features a variety of luxury villas located on the absolute beachfront of Natai Beach.
